Caol Ila 10 Years Old

Distilled on Islay’s rugged coast, Caol Ila is famed for its refined smoky character.This 10-year-old matured in a rich Pedro Ximénez sherry cask before a unique finish in a Scottish Rum Octave from Burnobennie Distillery, adding depth and sweetness to the coastal peat. We halted the ageing of this cask in 2022 to preserve the distillery character.

On the nose, waves of peat smoke and sea spray mingle with dark dried fruits and molasses.The palate balances sweet sherry richness, rum toffee, and candied orange peel against Caol Ila’s classic smoky, saline character. The finish is long and warming, with embers of peat, treacle, and spiced oak lingering.
